Puckle Lane, Moonee Ponds, Victoria 3039, Australia.
From Moore Street, VIC 3039. This is one of two very similar signs on the same stretch of road: same wording, same lettering, similar weathering. I chose to photograph this one for its squashed-up last line – apparently they figured out the spacing on the other one. The signs are old and beaten but still doing their job.
I think this is a magnificent sign, not only because of its size, but also because of the variety in its lettering and the lovely phrase (or brand name?) “electrine candles”. I can’t decipher all the words though. It appears the white writing has been painted over top of the blue. Here is my best attempt so far:
I can’t decipher the words in white paint. Perhaps the second of them is “DRAPER”? There may be more words in blue/purple running along the bottom, but I am not sure.
This building has looked locked and unused for as long as I have noticed it (about a year), but is clean and tidy apart from a few cobwebs.
My interpretation of the wording is:

I love the old phone number format! See below for images of the wider sign and the complete building facing the early morning light. At this time of year, leafy trees shade the sign throughout the day.
